The Law of Attraction and Manifestation – Early Results
Today is Day 4 of my 100 Day Challenge to put the law of attraction into practice and I’m already starting to see some results in the form of new work from a current client and a referral that lead to a new client. Perhaps you can chalk it up to coincidence so far, but I’m grateful none the less.
If you take what the teachers of the law of attraction say at face value, the principle boils down to being a co-creator with the Universe to manifest your heart’s desire. From a skeptic’s perspective, you focus on one thing at a time and take incremental steps each day to achieve your goals. Because you are focused on one particular thing, you can see when you make progress, steps to overcome obstacles, and opportunities you may have overlooked previously.
Either way, you are manifesting your desires at a much faster rate than if you had no focus and were trying to hit a moving target. It’s really about setting priorities and deciding that you will achieve your goals rather than hoping and wishing things will be different.
You’ve probably heard the definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and expecting different results. The reality is that if you want different results in your life, you have to make a radical change and do things differently. In my case, I’ve set priorities and am working towards achieving them, rather than hoping I’ll get around to doing them one day.
Here are a few ways to prioritize and focus on manifesting your goals more quickly.
- Visualize – One of the principles of the law of attraction is to visualize your goal as if it is already in your life. One of my main goals for 2010 is to travel so I’ve started planning my trip. I’ve bought a few travel books. I’ve started monitoring airfare rates. I’ve been planning which destinations I want to visit. And I’ve been taking steps to learn the fundamentals of French and catch up on my German. I’ve done enough research that I can visualize myself drinking coffee in a cafe in Paris or eating tapas in Seville so that it’s in the present tense.
- Talk About It – While some people don’t like to tell others their goals, I talk to people non-stop about their travel experiences and how I am looking forward to my trip. The more I talk about it and hear others’ travel experiences, the more motivated I become to actually go and experience it for myself. At this stage, I really don’t know how, exactly, I will make it happen, but I’m motivated to put 100% of my efforts into achieving it and see what happens.
- Believe You Are Worthy – We often sabotage ourselves because we don’t feel we are worthy enough to receive what we ask for. The law of attraction says we must learn to receive and believe we are worthy to receive it. I consider this being in alignment with my goals. I feel passionate and enthusiastic about them right now – it just feels right that I should travel next summer.
- Learn To Receive – While my travel plans haven’t yet manifested, I am learning to receive those things that come into my life that will move me towards my travel goals – namely getting more clients now and making more revenue to fund my trip. Learning to receive is something I am focusing on during this 100 Day Challenge because in the past, I have sabotaged my own efforts with fear and doubts.
- Let Go – It’s funny, but I don’t feel stressed or clingy when I think about my travel goals. Rather, I am confident that they will manifest and I am open to accepting how the future will unfold. Yes, I have an idea of what I want, but I don’t need it. The law of attraction teachers call this “letting go” of my desire. I’ve made my intention clear and am giving it a lot of focus, but there is a balancing act between clinging to the outcome and trusting that everything will work out.
- Be Grateful - Focusing on gratitude and generosity rather than the negative things that creep into our lives is key to manifesting. Just the other day, I had about seven things go right and one bad thing that happened. My mood was immediately transformed until I became aware of what I was doing and put the day into perspective. It’s so easy to focus on bad things and blow things out of proportion that it takes conscious effort to accept and be grateful for all the positive stuff.
- Give Back – I’ve been making it a priority to give what I can to others – such as in the form of writing for my websites, creating informational products, and doing what I can to help others offline. Giving makes me feel good and I often find that whenever I give, I receive something in return – though usually not from the person I gave to. It’s been fascinating to watch the effects.
I’m so curious as to how this 100 Day Challenge will play out, but so far, I’ve been quite happy with the results.
